DRIVEWAY PAVING · PULASKI, GREEN BAY AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN
Asphalt Driveway Paving in Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin
New driveways, replacements, overlays, extensions, and gravel-to-asphalt conversions from a Pulaski family that builds them to last.
A New Asphalt Driveway, Built From the Base Up
A new asphalt driveway in Northeast Wisconsin costs roughly $4 to $8 per square foot installed, takes one day to pave after base work, and lasts 15 to 25 years when it is sealcoated every few years. Martiny Paving builds driveways for homeowners from Pulaski and Green Bay out to Seymour, Shawano, Bonduel, Oconto Falls, and the rural roads in between, including long country driveways that most Green Bay companies will not drive to.
We start with what is under the driveway. A compacted stone base with the right pitch is what keeps a driveway from heaving, cracking, and puddling after a Wisconsin winter. Then we place commercial-grade hot mix at 2 to 3 inches compacted, roll it while it is hot, and tamp the edges so they do not crumble when you drive near them.

Driveway Paving Questions, Answered
How much does an asphalt driveway cost in Wisconsin?
Most new asphalt driveways around Green Bay and Pulaski run $4 to $8 per square foot installed, so a typical 24 by 40 foot driveway lands between $4,000 and $8,000 and a long rural driveway more. Overlays cost less, tear-outs with base repair cost more. We give free written quotes after an on-site look.
Asphalt or concrete for a Wisconsin driveway?
Asphalt costs about half as much up front, is not damaged by road salt the way concrete is, and can be patched or overlaid cheaply. Concrete lasts longer but is far more expensive to repair when it spalls or cracks. For most Northeast Wisconsin homes, asphalt with sealcoating every 2 to 3 years is the better value.
How long does it take to pave a driveway?
Paving itself takes one day. Removing an old driveway and building the base can add a day or two. You can walk on it the next day and drive on it after 24 to 72 hours depending on the weather.
Can you turn my gravel driveway into asphalt?
Yes. Existing gravel often makes a good start on the base. We grade it, add and compact stone where needed, set the pitch for drainage, and pave. Rural gravel-to-asphalt conversions are a big part of our work in Shawano and Oconto counties.
Do I need a permit to pave my driveway?
Repaving in place usually does not. A new driveway, a wider or relocated approach, or a culvert change needs an access permit from whoever owns the road: the village or town for local streets, the county for county highways, and WisDOT for state highways. We will tell you at the quote if one applies.
When should I sealcoat a new driveway?
Wait until the year after installation so the asphalt can cure through a full season, then sealcoat every 2 to 3 years. Sealing too early traps oils and weakens the surface. Call 920-770-5805 or use our quote form and we will put a reminder on our schedule for you.
